365 Redo in December 2018

365+ Redo

Good times, people, good times.

I am calling redo on my 365 project with project upgrades. Completing a 365 Project is still on my 1001 in 101 List and you best believe I’m finna do tha dang thang! The first time attempts at this project I went the photography route went okay.  In the beginning I was able to get the images on IG. I was feeling good, but I wasn’t a fan of the caliber of the photos taken nor my efforts. The task of taking photos with no real plan became the most nerve-wrecking part of my day, which added on to my anxiety issues. So in the midst of feeling bleh about the project, it all began to feel more of a chore rather than something that I could reflect on and enjoy. When it comes to photography I feel like I should always feel excited about my images and captures. So somethings have to change.

The Reason

One reason that I want to do 365+ project is that it’s on my 1001 in 101 Days list because, why not?  The second reason I am really interested in doing a 365+ blog post project is because I am interested in pursuing a project that will allow myself moments of real critical thought. By making a daily commitment to push my creativity and social activism to another level I am only reinforcing what I want to do with my blog. By taking a more engaging approach to do 365+ I hope to have the flexibility to post what I want on my blog every day whether the final product is an image, self made graphic, video, audio clip, or blog post.

The Rules

As much as I wanted to free ball this, I realized that I do have to have a bit of a game plan. I can’t just run into this and hope it works out…I did that before and well, you see where we are now. The simpler and more flexible the the guidelines the easier it will be to stick to the plan and do this wholeheartedly. Here’s what I go thus, far:

  1. Post something every day for 365+ days on kissmypassion (can be images, blog posts, videos, podcasts, etc.)

  2. Don’t think too hard, but like what you are posting

  3. Carry a camera & notebook everywhere (phone counts, too)

  4. Don’t be afraid to miss a day, but don’t completely just give up either

  5. Don’t go for perfect go for what feels good

  6. Use prompt list when out of ideas

  7. Add and subtract rules as needed

getting started

The official start date of this 365+ project will be is Saturday December 1 2018, and I will run this project through the end of January 1 2020. I am looking forward to getting started and give this daily thing a go. If you follow me on Instagram expect to see some changes that goes beyond fashion into whatever else comes to mind. The pressure is starting to build, but I feel confident with my prompts and daily schedule on hand.  Wish me luck, y’all!
