Kuumba, sixth day of kwanzaa

¿Habari gani?

Kuumba is the recognized principle of today, December 31, which marks Day Six of Kwanzaa. Kuumba (koo-OOM-bah, Creativity), as related to Nguzo Saba (En-GOO-zoh Sah-BAH) is to always do as much as we can, in the way that we can, in order to leave our community more beautiful than when we inherited it.

This concept is a great way to continue to share and uplift our traditions, practices, and beliefs as a community focused on positively impacting the community. Food for thought: Imagine if we put aside the capitalist mindset that people are for sell or are beings to be sold. Imagine the state of the world if we respected our earth and spiritual traditions and continued to replenish what we took.

Today’s ritual included the lighting the candles in the kinara and per usual I chose to burn incense and my candles for card pulling. After card pulling I decided to meditate for 30 minutes and calling to my orishas.

¡heri za kwanzaa!
