While everyone else is setting resolutions I am determined to start making a dent in a 1001 Project. If you are not familiar with what I'm getting at a 1001 Project is when you set out to complete 101 goals in 1001 days. It’s something a little different than the traditional resolution route. I will be officially starting my 1001 Project February 01, 2016. This is more than just a resolution this a change in lifestyle and I am ready to start checking things off, counting things down, and planning what I want to accomplish next.
When selecting my adventures, I broke it down into categories, sort of. I made a list of things that I wanted to do without much thought. Then I went back and modified some of the tasks and adventures so that they were a bit more specific. In stead of making vague goals I selected specific activities and tasks. For example instead of saying "Do 10 adventurous things" I specifically wrote down things that I feel would be adventurous for me like skydiving, horseback riding, riding a segway, etc. because these things were similar I grouped them together creating a category.
Once you've narrowed your list down to 101 items it’s time to set a day to start. Keep in mind when creating this list initially you will want to give yourself at least 3-7 days to put your list together. It’s important to reflect on why you want to do certain tasks and what you want to get out of meeting your goals. Two major ways to make sure you accomplish your goals are to keep track of your progress and do as many of your activities with someone you know and trust. My experience and observations have shown that you tend to have a bit more accountability if you do some of your adventures with friends!
As I mentioned previously, my 101 in 1001 Project is a lifestyle change and because it’s a huge part of who I am, I have dedicated a page to this project. I'll post pictures on IG and Snap all of the good stuff. The next couple of years are going to be a whirlwind and adventure.
Well, I suppose this concludes the first official post of My 1001 Project series. I look forward to reading your comments about what you think about my list, things that you have already accomplished, and whatever else is on your mind.
