With Turkey Day just a day away there is a sense of urgency and reflection coating the days as one of the first major celebrations is about to take place to kick off the holiday season. It’s not every day that we get to round up the whole entire family due to busy schedules and family feuds. Turkey Day is a time when issues are temporarily set aside and friends and family gather together to eat well, watch some sports matches, and reflect on what they are thankful for.
Unfortunately, it’s too easy to let ourselves become completely wrapped up in our personal lives letting the rest of the world falls wayside. And it’s understandable that we can become overwhelmed with what is going on around us any given day and forget the people that helped us get re-centered. But take a moment to think about what life would be like if we didn’t have those that have helped support us. A scary thought, right?
Let us today, tomorrow, and every day after that find a moment to thanks someone. Let us find time to remind those around us that they are a part of an elite group of people that deserve appreciation. Let the people around you know that they matter. We can often be swept away in life and circumstances that are beyond our control. So much so that we assume that the people in our lives should already know what we think of them or assume that you’ll get around to telling them that you love them. Show those that mean the most to you how you feel unabashedly. It’s nice to hear that you’re loved more often than not.
