When the sun is out and it’s time to play Lake Calhoun should be at the top of your list of places to visit. Besides being one of 10,000 lakes to enjoy Lake Calhoun also offers The Tin Fish Restaurant, rental equipment for while out on the lake, Lake Calhoun Thomas Beach, and of course an abundant number of boating docks relax by.
The lake is like any other, there’s wild life, walking paths, bike paths, and even fishing. The crowd is a good mix of the young, the wise, the bold, the quiet, and everything in between. For those that enjoy photography there’s so many different scenes to choose from. If you want to get your fitness on, you will definitely find yourself in good company. Word of wisdom, when people tell you you’re going the wrong direction on the bike paths, listen otherwise you just might find yourself scaling hills you didn’t quite anticipate.
If you choose to eat at The Tin Fish Restaurant plan to stand in line for 30 minutes just to order and another 30 to 45 minutes until you get your food. I won’t say that the wait is worth it, but I will say that the food is excellent. The food does come in large portions so bring a friend to hang out with and to help you eat. As I mentioned the portions are larger and so is that receipt total that comes along with your food. If you plan just right you will bring a friend or two with you so you can take turns standing in the line that never ends, one can grab you adult beverages while you wait and the other can head over to the sweet treats line to get you a snack. Lake Calhoun is definitely the place to be during the hot summer days and evenings. With that said be prepared for large crowds on the weekends and those final days of summer Leave a comment below about what you love best about Lake Calhoun during the summer. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear from you.
