If you think back or simply revisit a past New Arrival Post, you may remember how excited I was for the Hikari Lip Gloss (in Merlot) that I received.
In my world Merlot is no longer just a wine for Ladies Night, it's my new official color of choice in Hikari Lip Gloss. When I received my August Ipsy Glam Bag this was the first product that I tried out! Dare I say, it was love at first sight... I enjoyed this product and I would recommend this product to anyone that is about being glossy.
I liked the array of colors that were offered and they don’t completely break the bank at $13.00 apiece. If you are into deals like I am you will find yourself getting a discounted rate and rolling your eyes at the thought of paying a full retail price.
If you know me well enough you completely get that I am super picky about my glosses. This gloss does a wonderful job at being glossy, it’s long lasting as long as you don’t eat or drink anything (it’s just a typical lip gloss in that way). I found this gloss was a little sticky and that is a huge turn off for me personally. So while I would recommend this to friends I wouldn’t wear it every day as a stand alone product. I took creative measures to make this product work for me because I loved the color so much.
Method 1: Jelly Mixer
Step 1: Add dime size dollop of petroleum jelly to paint palette creating a bowl effect.
Step 2: Add one droplet of Vitamin E
Mix Vitamin E and jelly together. (Test the stickiness add more jelly as needed.)
Step 3: Add a just a few drops of Hikari Lip Gloss to half a drop of petroleum on pant pallet.
Step 4: Fold gloss, vitamin, and jelly together.
Step 5: Apply final product. Save the rest in small travel container for future use during the day.
Method 2: Layering Effect
Step 1: Apply clear lip moisturizer.
Step 2: Apply a muted brown/purple lipstick
Step 3: Apply Hikari Lip Gloss

Are there any other tricks or tips that you know? Have you used this product and loved it? I am an experimenter and just because these methods please me, they may not be a good fit for you. I stick to the philosophy that beauty enhancements should be fun and experimental. Not every product is for everybody, so test it out and make some conclusions for yourself!
