Women's Expo Downtown Minneapolis Convention Center
Whether you were looking for beauty products, clothing, a photographer or even a taser 2016 Women’s Expo was the place to be. The Women’s Expo has been running in Minnesota for six years with the running mission to enrich, enlighten, and empower women. It’s an event where exhibitors and women formally meet and talk shop. This year the Expo took place at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Downtown Minneapolis for about a day and a half.

As with most expos, there was a flourish of main stage happenings every 30 minutes. The stage held many representatives such as Mrs. Minnesota America, Zumba Fitness, a “fashion show” and more. The crowd was small making the performances and presentations very intimate. While there wasn’t a large crowd, there was plenty of seating for anyone that needed to get off their feet. It was refreshing to see that all of the exhibitors were representing Minnesota-based businesses. It’s the worst when you go to an event and make connections with a company/organization only to find out you have less access because they are located thousands of miles away. I did not get a chance to catch up with the organizers of this event, but I did take the time to speak with some of the local exhibitors about what they had to offer. With more than 50 booths brimming with information, merchandise and, of course, freebies there were a few exhibitors that stood out for me.

The list could go on and on. This year’s Expo wasn’t quite what I was expecting, but there were a variety of local companies that were worth facing the cold, not to mention samples of adult beverages. I feel that this event was highly underrated and look forward to next years expo. This expo is about bringing women together and sharing inspiration to be and do better.
