My Birthday Wishlist
What do I want for my birthday? I’ll get asked every year and every year it will be something different. I’ll throw out names of different products because it seems like the thing to do, and because I don’t expect anyone to take what I ask for seriously. These days what I really want for my birthday I'll never have. But I do hope that you all will grant me a birthday wish and spend time with people that you love in person, not just over the phone or online. Don't wait for the holidays, don't wait for a birthday, don't wait period. Last year I thought I would be spending Christmas with my mom, but she passed away one week before that.
I had plans made, a menu picked out, gifts ready, and it hurt that much more. I've run through a whole list of shoulda, coulda, wouldas and they don't amount to anything. No day nor hour is guaranteed so you have to make the most of it. You have to make sure each moment counts with the people you treasure the most. Cut ties with toxic people, let go of those that hinder you from being great. I’m sure people think I’m odd because when I’m angry with someone I care about I let them know that I still love them, but I’m angry and choosing to walk away in that moment. Let the people know that even when you are angry with them that you still love them. The last moments I spent with my mom we were laughing, joking, and being silly. Being happy is what I want to do with my life. And I just want the people in my life and around me to live it up, love wholly, be happy, and make every second count.
The only thing in the world that I want is to be able to spend just one moment with my mom and it's one thing I will never get to do again. So since I can’t have that one thing, I hope that anyone that wants to give me with something will take my birthday wishes seriously and carry them out not for me, but for themselves, and for humanity as a whole.
Love and accept yourself
Spend time and space with people that matter the most to you
When you have enough to give, give without expecting anything in return
Help someone you see struggling whether it be a smile, meal, or something you have an overabundance of
Let the people you love know that you love them with your words and actions not material things
Create happy memories don’t stage them, just let them happen
Never miss a chance to tell the people in your life know that you care for them and know that they care for you
