October Goals, September Goals Recap 2017
Happy October one and all! Happy birthday, Libras and Scorpios. October has hit and-and Autumn is fully taking over. Is it just me or is time flying by? Feeling renewed and ready to make things happen, again! If you remember in my previous September Goals Post, I mentioned taking a crack at adulting. Being a functional grown-up is hella hard, but I think I’m starting to see how I can do it. It’s apparently a challenging thing for millennials to grasp, which means I am not entirely alone in this rocky journey.
I am addicted to creating lists and getting everything crossed off. As I keep trucking forward, I’m definitely trying to accept that it’s okay if I don’t get everything checked off of my list no matter how frustrating it is. Every day I’m testing myself and challenging myself not to let my lists measure my worth. There is a point in your life when you just have to say, “Eff it!” and just get on with living life.
Here’s a recap of September Goals, followed by a whole new set of things for October.
September Goals Recap
Sticking to the planner didn’t go as I planned, but I’m going to give it another go and stay committed! While in my personal goals I wanted to do more flat lays, I did like two, and that was all she wrote. This time around I have planned days to do flat lays in my editorial calendar, and hopefully, it will help. When it comes to the reading my current motivational book and making purchases from minority-owned businesses I faltered, again, I will be relying on my editorial calendar and notifications to keep me on track. So I guess only time will tell.
One of my primary goals is to find a job that I love that isn’t entangled in big business and is doing some great work in helping people. I turned in my revamped resume/CV and cover letter into a handful of nonprofits and had a couple of interviews in October set up. I’m crossing my fingers that I will get at least one job offer. So with those two things accomplished on my list, I’m feeling pretty good about my professional goals.
Blogging & Influencer Goals
I was able to meet most of my goals for this particular category, I didn’t get the number 10 more followers on Bloglovin, but I did on Instagram! Yay, me! I think the fact that I did post at least one once a week on Instagram helped. I have high hopes that this time around utilizing my editorial calendar I will be able to post two times a week. The articles may be shorter, but I’m okay with that. I think of myself as more a microblogger type so what happens happens.
My health goals were a complete crash and burn. The only thing I was able to accomplish was finding an accountability buddy, and we both failed together. We vowed that October would be better and we will keep each other in check! No worries, if at first you success...
New Goals in October
I’ve set some goals, not the SMART, kind, but the goals nonetheless, for October. I think that the goal categories that I created previously are still workable, so I’ll use them for this month, too. Because I didn’t quite make all of my goals for last month, I’m going to give a few of them another go during October. After attempting them previously, I think I’ve got a formula that makes sense and will allow me to complete my goals this time around. I’m finna kill my goals this month!
