You Must Experience Melt Cosmetics Death Cherry Liquid Lipset At Least Once In Your Lifetime
Most recently I bought some smoocher products from Melt Cosmetics. I have to say it was an exciting purchase for me to make because I follow Lora Arellano on Snapchat and she is everythang. I’ll throw it out there, I didn’t even know she was associated with a brand or company until most recently and I’ve been following her for a good number of months now. When I saw the liquid lipset in her snaps I was drawn in immediately. As soon as I saw that reddish winey Melt Pouch, it was over. And of course I couldn’t leave well enough alone I was all over the Melt Cosmetics Instagram and my purchase happened before I even knew what happened. Honestly, I didn’t even know what I had left in my account, I simply got to clicking and it was done.
On the day that I received my library card on the same day that I received my Melt Cosmetics Items and I was on overload. I am a huge lover of books and having a library card for me is just like receiving the highest honorary credit card known to women. I was absolutely on cloud 9. I ended up waiting a few days before opening my smoocher products simply because I was sick and I wanted to limit the plague from spreading. But as soon as I was up for it that package was opened and I was shooting photos like a woman possessed. The one thing that people know about me is that I Iove pretty things. 75% of the reason why I purchase things is due to the packaging and the need to be in the middle of beauty madness. So once I opened that box I was squealing like a mothafuck.
So on top of the euphoria of the awesome packaging and bomb ass stickers, I was still riding high on the fact that my purchase was supporting a business is owned by women of color and that I was already following one of the owners, Lora Arellano, on Snapchat. So there was excitement all around. Do note that Melt Cosmetics is on the pricier side, but it should be expected as this is a higher end brand and worth it. Once I opened my package I wasn’t disappointed. The presentation got me right away and more squealing ensued. I have a deep love for burgundy wine color, it’s my weakness and that is the color of the tissue paper surrounding my newest arrival. Once I removed the tissues I took a deep pause to take in the lipstick print stickers reppin’ melt. Hardcore and a new love began.
I purchased my Duo Set consisting of Death Cherry Liquid Set Lipstick + Ambrosia Lipliner. At first glance I was hooked by the packaging that the Lipstick came in. It has a very fine velvety texture with glossy pink holographic-ish imprints that really pop against the black background. The lipliner was packaged in a slimmer black box with the melt. written on the box in a darker metal gray color at one end and at the other other end ALLDAY/EVERYDAY with the outline of a lips drawn on. Trust my words do the images no justice.
I am so in love with the Death Cherry Liquid Set Lipstick that I am officially making it my Fall/ Winter Signature Color. I love the way the color looks against my skin. The scent is so nice, I still can’t quite pinpoint what it is, but I like it. This is a liquid lipstick as you might have guessed but why not put it on the record. It’s mattifying, but not overly mattifying. The thickness of the lip container is just right, not too thin, not too thick for easy handling. If you throw it at someone's head right after calling said person an ass and with good aim there will be pain. The color is so vibrant and eye catching. There’s an awesome viewer on the side so you know when you are getting low and won’t be caught off guard when it’s time to buy a replacement.
The Ambrosia Lipliner is smooth and buttery. It is in pencil form and a few shades lighter than the actual lipstick it was paired with. I have to say that I was surprised at how light the pencil shade was. I’m pretty old school meaning I am used to having the darker shade on the outside and lighter lip color on the inside. So this was definitely an adjustment. But I have no complaints because it looks really good on me. I’m a bit nervous about when it comes time to sharpen it. I hope that in the future Melt Creates a retractable lip liner, that would be amazefuckinballs. But I’ll ride this pencil out for as long as possible as for now it does a great job keeping my lipstick from running wild and free.
Since I’ve started wearing it there isn’t a single place I can go without getting compliments on my makeup. I feel like this lipset is so pigmented that it will look great on everybody... depending on the look you’re going for. The applicator is absolutely on point for those near perfect lip lines when creating sharp a sharp outline during application. I appreciate how the shape allows you to manipulate how much more or little product you need to add to your lips. I find that it does take awhile to dry and it definitely shapes to your lips. So if you have wrinkly lips you can’t hide them. When wearing this product it’s important to prep your lips to prevent over drying as this liquid lipstick is more on the matte side. This lippie does transfer, but it’s to be expected from a product that won’t completely dry out your lips and locks in the moisture that you put underneath the initial layer of lipstick. The color does stay in place and with the lip line. I personally didn’t see unintentional bleed through. But keep in mind If you plan to have a makeout session I would like to say on the record that your liplocking partner will walk away with visible evidence of the deed. For removal I would recommend applying an oil cleanser or non-toxic oil to your lips for at least 20 seconds then gently remove.

Death Cherry Liquid Set Lipstick has a matte finish that is drying but not too drying with an awesome applicator
Ambrosia Lipliner is in lápiz form with a buttery finish that may or may not be an issue when it comes time to sharpen
Beautiful and rich pigmentation with awesome staying power
On the pricier side, but so so worth it
Melt Cosmetics is a minority owned business by a women of color so, duh when it comes to using your purchasing power to show support for communities of color
