Hello November Goals, October Goals Recap
Happy November and beginning of the holiday season. YAY! Happy birthday, Scorpios and Sagittarians. November marks the beginnings of the Midwest weather mess. With the leaves withering away and drops in temperature wardrobes are calling for change. In my previous October Goals Post, I mentioned taking on new challenges and staying focused on slaying 3 items in each category and I delivered…mostly.
As I continue on my quest to support businesses owned and ran by people of color I find myself feeling a little overwhelmed these days. Though I want to support as many businesses as I can my bank account is crying out from abuse. This month I am going to still purchase from POC businesses, in exchange I will grocery shop and stop ordering out and eating out. (With the exception of a certain someone’s birthday celebration, of course.)
Every day I am met with challenges and I am attempting to make them happen. I know that I can’t do it alone so I am definitely asking for support from my readers and friends to call me on my commitments. I can and I will accomplish my goals for November. Wish me luck my friends!
Here’s a recap of October Goals, followed by a whole new set for November.
October Goals Recap
Sticking to the planner wasn’t as hard as I thought it could be. It turns out when you create a routine for yourself and give yourself some wiggle room you can pretty much accomplish everything on your reasonable to do list. Stay tuned for posts and pics of my purchases from POC owned businesses. I a feeling mighty proud of myself. Did I forget to mention that I finished 3 of 5 books on my reading list? No? Well I did! *imagine me twerking in my unicorn onesie*
On my list I wanted to apply to 20 non-profits, but I came pretty close by applying to 17. Of the places that I applied for I have had 6 job interviews and there were two jobs that I reconsidered after meeting at the companies and not feeling positive vibes or seeing diversity in upper management. And it turns out if you want to take a writing gig online you actually have to be given an offer…no offers but I’ll keep on pressing on it’s what I do. I went to 1 networking event, but barely networked, so I hope that November will open up possibilities in that area.
Blogging & Influencer Goals
For the most part I was able to stick to my editorial calendar and write two blog posts a week. I wowed myself by posting to Instagram at least once a week and stick to editorial calendar. I wasn’t confident in a couple of posts so they are still sitting in my review box. But I hope to rewrite and then post them this month minus the Halloween and Day of the Dead Post. They kind of lost their relevancy at this point. As far as reaching out to minority owned businesses, I psyched myself out once again. But I’m hoping that November will be it for me. I have the goals set so I just have to follow through. I got this!
So let’s just say that health goals are not my forte. Being healthy just not be in my lane. The good news is that I refrained from eating at fast food restaurants, avoided coffee shops, and I had a total of 4 sodas all month. For me that’s a world record. I lost no lbs…not a single one and my world didn’t end. I am giving it another go and hoping that my sleep schedule will allow me to get it together. But in my defense working double shifts completely throw my schedule off and I would rather sacrifice working out rather than losing precious time to recuperate by resting.

I have a lot I want to do, but do I have the will power? I know that if I stick to a plan I can do what I have set out to do, but it will only work if I stay active, take care of myself and don’t lose my head. I have a lot I want to prove to myself. A I over ambitious? Comment below to share what goals you have set for November and if you have found accountability buddy, yet.
