Here we go again, another set of Goals! Last month was pretty successful. Success being that I didn’t just scrap it all away and say eff it. I will admit that being sick with the flu and super sucked and kicked my behind in quite a few areas, but that’s the way life is nothing ever happens how we plan. Looking back I have to say that I am pretty proud of all of the things I was able to accomplish.
I actually completed my taxes, and on time! I am usually that one lady that is asking for an extension one day before hand just because it’s taxes. If it were anything else I would have finished it the day I could have started. This year I simply knocked it out of the park. I actually ended up trying to fill it out in a few different systems to see who would get me the most on my return and I found the best person to go with was TurboTax which allowed me to fill out both my state and federal taxes for free...well at first. Then after having to report I was an independent contractor I ended up having to pay for services, which is lame. If anyone has any suggestions for next year please leave a comment in the comment box because I cried at the amount I ended up having to pay to finish up my forms.
Earlier in the month I entered two writing contests that were specific to the state of Minnesota. I enjoyed the experience and flexing my writing skills. I have found that the more I write the easier it is for me to come up with more writing ideas. I’m quite confident that I didn't make it past the first round of either one, but I still appreciated the experience overall. I look forward to attempting to enter two more contests in April.
It took me 10 months, but I finally finished reading Year of Yes! Seriously, I almost never thought the day would come when I would complete that book. It wasn’t a difficult read by any means, but it was a struggle to carve out time to read the book and make sure I also had time to reflect and put life in perspective. Since finishing the book I have put myself on a “Yes” regimen. So instead of hesitating at any writing projects I am officially saying yes as long as the terms and pay are agreeable. Your girl is officially building her writing portfolio.
hell to the naw fast food
My greatest accomplishment for the month of March has to be not going out for fast food at all during the entire month. I am addicted to unhealthy foods because they taste so damn good and I am always left satisfied with being bad. Unfortunately, I am not a fast food goer in moderation. If I go out once I go everyday for the entire week and oddly enough the food I end up ordering gets progressively worse. The convenience of fast food almost took me down when I was feeling sick and my niece needed some food to eat. I literally had to drag myself out of bed get myself together then muddle through making a meal. I was cranky as heck, but we both ended up with a much healthier option. This month I specifically set out with the goal not to eat out or order horribly unhealthy foods and I kicked ass! . I am so proud of myself! I feel like I can fricken do anything!!!
With March done and April already in full swing it's about that time to keep moving along. Happy days my friends and don't forget to leave a comment down below.
