So I didn’t get everything on my March Goal List crossed off and the world didn’t end. SURPRISE! Life happens. For reals that’s why we have reset buttons. April is a chance to start over brand new and reallocate some of my goals. I have plans and I’ll take it a day at a time.
I have struggled with being active and having a routine. The plan for April is to try walking 1 mile for 5 - 6 days a week to get my walking legs back in order, no excuses! By the end of Week 2 in April I will walk 2 miles a day. Then May’s Challenge will be to walk 3 miles a day 5 to 6 days a week. If I can set my mind to getting active then I know I will actually be active.
2 dance/aerobic classes
I am not the one when it comes to actively going to anyone’s gym. I simply do not have the patience, will, or access to have a gym membership. By committing to two classes in April I am attempting to build up to taking 1 class a week at a good cheap rate going to different locations that give you an economy option for the first class. I am more likely to keep my commitments if what I am doing is fun and somewhat adventurous for me.
Eating healthy can be a struggle when you have a love for all of the stuff you shouldn’t have. I admit vegetables suck. I don’t particularly love them, but I know I can’t live without them. For this month I will be incorporating a large salad for lunch 5 days out of the week. On the days that I have brunch or lunch with friends I’ll flip my garden meal to dinner time to hopefully balance it all out. I want to say I look forward to it, but I don’t.
youtube will be my thing
I always have really great ideas for videos that I want to post, but then I chicken out because it’s a lot more work than one would think. When it comes to my creative ventures I can be a bit of a perfectionist. I declare, I will post my intro video this month and a DIY/tutorial this month Just you watch!
interview 4 m.o.b. & calendar
Now that I have a renewed sense of philanthropy with an emphasis on communities of color (CC). I am confident in moving forward in showing support for my minority owned businesses by people of color. I will be starting the interviews this month and hopefully posting the first business featurette in the second week of April. Cross your fingers for me. I also hope to get an events calendar going that focuses on events run by people of color up and going as well. I think the calendar will be a May goal. Cross your fingers for me.
I’ll be creating my vision board to keep me motivated, positive and keep my eye on the prize. Unfortunately, everywhere I turn I am hearing and seeing messages that devalue my worth as a woman of color. To counteract these messages I have to choose to surround myself with as much positivity as possible. I do a lot of self speak and I’m not ashamed of it. I have to tell me and believe me when I tell myself I am worthy of love, happiness, and respect. So a vision board is just one more thing to send myself that message as well as looking to the future towards success.
finish 3 books
I still got them books...I’m gonna finish them and that’s that~
my first house plant
I am buying my first official houseplant and I plan to make it live forever. There will be no buying a fake plant and passing off as real. This will be a legitimate plant that goes through real photosynthesis and give me oxygen. Legit, I have been reading articles and books to get prepared. My plant will survive.
