Fashion is in the air and Fashion Week is right around the corner. April 20 to April 29 marks our very own Semi-Annual Fashion Week Minnesota. Minnesota is one of those places where people buy local and support local businesses; the Minnesota Fashion Industry is no exception. Spring fashion, elegant gowns, and unique jewelry will be just a few things to look out for during the week. There will be plenty of events for fashionistas and fashion enthusiasts alike to support local artists by attending shows, pop-ups, and markets.
Of course, there will be fashion shows, but there will also be many opportunities for networking, discussion panels, art viewings, mingling, and dancing to some pretty good music. The talent in Minnesota is too strong, and many will be featurettes during Fashion Week Minnesota. Raul Osorio, Project Runway alum, is a Minneapolis-based fashion designer and stylist debuting his minimalist menswear. The excellent blogger Nessa of Nessa Bess sitting on the panel along side Senior Editor of Shopping & Style for Mpls.St.Paul Magazine, Allison Kaplan, will be discussing Online/Offline: The Business of Fashion. Minnstafashion: Official Fashion Week MN Kickoff Event hosted at W Minneapolis-The Foshay Hotel on Thursday, April 20 begins at 7:00 p.m. You can RSVP by clicking here.
With so much going on during Fashion Week picking out exactly which events you want to go to can be challenging. There’s a little bit of everything for everybody. Since I blog with the intention of supporting m.o.b. by POC, I have an idea of what events will give me what I am looking for. In determining my Spring Fashion Week Minnesota schedule, I am also seeking shows and events that will offer a new experience. Here are just a few of my Fashion Week MN picks.
